Poppell

Poppell began in the Netherlands in 1958, when a lighter enthusiast named Albert van Poppell introduced the brand’s first model, the “Standard,” a gas lighter featuring a removable plastic tank. Rather than refilling lighters with gas or petrol, Poppell’s innovation was that once the fuel tank ran dry you simply discarded it and replaced it, a design that foreshadowed the disposable lighter concept. Today the brand offering both disposable flint wheel lighters and refillable electronic lighters. Its products are designed for everyday convenience and reliability: disposable flint lighters deliver around 1,450 lights per gas fill, while refillable electronic varieties provide consistent ignition and can be reused multiple times.
