In 1944, Marcel Bich bought a factory in Clichy, France setting up Bic as a business with his partner Edouard Buffard as a maker of writing instruments parts. Then in 1950 Marcel Bich adapts and improves the first ballpoint pen invented by the Hungarian Laslo Biro and launches his own pen in France under the Bic brand. Here the iconic Bic Cristal pen is born!
